Retired Sgt. 1st Class Marvin Ray Neathery, 54, died Thursday, March 9, 1995, in a Lawton hospital.
He was born August 23, 1940, in Norfolk, Va. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Army in 1979. He was a member of Cameron Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma, where he was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Woodruff and Bobbie Neathery, both of the home; three brothers, Paul of Norfolk, Jack of Newport News and Richard of Virginia Beach; and five sisters, Kathryn Hufton of Norfolk, Evelyn Ballance of Chesapeake, Betty Ralston of Los Angeles, Calif., Vivian Jeter and Jean Turman, both of Virginia Beach.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 17, with the Rev. Benny Hampton officiating the graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Virginia Beach.
