HENRY H. RICHARDSON JR.

Henry Harwood Richardson Jr., 80, died March 16, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mr. Richardson was born Dec. 25, 1914, in Newport News. He was associated with Newport News Shipbuilding for over twenty years and was retired as a machine tool specialist with the former Tidewater Supply Company. Mr. Richardson and his wife were co-owners of the Comfort Inn Virginia Beach, 28th Street and Pacific Ave., as well as The Rodeway Inn on 28th Street and Oceanfront. Mr. Richardson was a member of The Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He was a member of the Princess Anne Country Club and Past President and member of the Virginia Beach Sports Club. He was Past President and member of the Hampton Roads German Club, and a former member of various social and professional organizations in Newport News.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Addison Richardson; three daughters, E. Bowie Richardson, Elizabeth R. Thomas and Cary R. Boykin, all of Virginia Beach; three sons, Henry H. Richardson III, B. Addison Richardson and Leonard C. Richardson, all of Virginia Beach; a sister, Catherine Richardson Sherman; a brother, Leonard C. Richardson; a niece, Anne Sherman Sweetman; a nephew, Robert M. Sherman, all of Newport News; and 10 grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in H.D.Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Father Richard Mooney. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, 18th and Arctic Ave., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
