Lester Nathaniel Hayes, 37, of the 1500 block of Cary Ave., died March 12, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Hayes was born in Norfolk, and was the son of Annie P. Adams Hayes and the late Rufus Hayes Sr. He was self-employed in lawn and garden service and was also a general handyman.
In addition to his mother, survivors include three daughters, Liesha Hall, Romika Hall and Shatoria Hall, all of Portsmouth; eight sisters, Elaine Hudgins, Angenine M. Drumgold, Janice L. King, Cheryl D. Watson, Venassa L. Little, Loretta Riddick, Sandra L. Hayes and Martha A. Hayes; five brothers, Stanley S. Hayes, Jessie A. Akbar, Micheal K. Hayes, Kenneth D. Hayes and Troy D. Hayes. He was predeceased by an older brother, Rufus ``Pete'' Hayes and a younger sister, Paula Hayes.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Riddick Funeral Service by the Rev. H. Bernard Branch. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at 605 Goff St.
