A woman stranded on Interstate 64 thought she found a Good Samaritan when a man stopped and offered help. Instead, police say, he put a knife to her throat and robbed her.
The woman, who was not identified, was westbound near Armistead Avenue, when she got a flat tire Friday, state police spokeswoman Tammy Van Dame said.
Police said the woman, who was alone, pulled over and stepped out of her car. One man stopped and offered help, saying he would go make a call for her. While she waited, another man driving a faded yellow, older-model pickup got out and offered assistance.
But, police said, he grabbed her keys from the trunk lock and followed her to the passenger side of her car. Police say he pulled out the knife, then grabbed the woman's money, jewelry and keys. He then fled.
