Rufus Walter Clark, 68, of the 6500 block of Old Myrtle Road, died March 19, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Clark was a native of Walhalla, S.C. He was retired from Moon Engineering as a machinist and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Elizabeth Clark; four daughters, Joyce Latham, Kathy Lobacz, Bonnie Wheat and Doris Farrow, all of Chesapeake; two sons, Roy Clark of Virginia Beach and Anderson Clark of Chesapeake; three stepsons, Will March and Ronald March, both of Portsmouth, and Edward March of Denbigh, Va.; four sisters, Lydie Howard of Appomattox, Va., Mattie Roach of Carrollton, Va., Bernice Beale and Myrtle Darden, both of Franklin; four brothers, Willie Clark and Henry Clark, both of Franklin, Carl Clark of Pascagoula, Miss., and Clarence Clark of Suffolk; 14 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. B.L. Scofield. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Gardens, Franklin, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
