NELLIE DAVISON GRAY

Nellie Davison Gray, 91, of Gloucester, Va., died March 19, 1995, at her home.

Mrs. Gray was born in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of Dr. Dorsett Allen Davison and Nellie Turner Davison. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley T. Gray Sr., and a son, Stanley T. Gray Jr.

Mrs. Gray was well-known as an artist and art instructor and was an originator of The Annual Spring and Art Exhibit held on the Court House Green. She was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, The Gloucester Woman's Club, The Village Homemaker's Club and The X-Y-Z Club of Bellamy United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Christadelphian Church, Richmond, Va.

Survivors include a son, N. Turner Gray, M.D., and his wife, Sylvia Moore Gray of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Lynne Gray Terveer and N. Turner Gray Jr. of Virginia Beach; two great-grandchildren, Keely and Tucker Terveer; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Gray Treakle of Gloucester and Virginia Clarke Gray Backus of Alexandria; one brother-in-law, James E. Wood Sr. of Tavares, Fla., and her faithful friends, Edith H. Reed and Robert and Carolyn South.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Bellamy United Methodist Church by the Rev. James B. Grimmer, with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
