As a Norfolk resident, parent and law-enforcement officer, I want to publicly praise the professionalism and leadership provided by Pamela Hoffler-Riddick, principal of Ruffner Middle School, along with that of Deborah Y. Smith, teacher-sponsor of the schools' ``Just Say No'' club and the other faculty members. They are doing a great job.
Recently, I presented a crime-prevention assembly to all 12 6th-grade classes for 400 young people. The most impressive part of my visit was the respect, attention and behavior exhibited by each student.
