GEORGE R. WALES

George R. ``Pappy'' Wales, 84, passed away Mar. 15, 1995, at the hospital in Hattisburg, Miss.

He was a native of Pensacola, Fla., but had lived in Norfolk most of his life. He retired from Virginia Transit Company in Norfolk after 25 years. He also resided in Virginia Beach at 241 Coventry Road for a number of years. He then moved to Mississippi to be with his daughter for his final years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Layland Twiford Wales, and two brothers, Elbie Wales and Frank Wales.

He is survived by two sons, Bill Wales of Riverview, Mich., and Bobby Lee Twiford of Brewton, Fla.; one daughter, Donna Hardison of Ellisville, Miss.; a brother, Oscar Wales; three sisters, Clara Webb, Elsia Ward, and Emma Jane Graham, all of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Hilda G. Wales of Virginia Beach.

The funeral was Saturday, March 18, 1995 in the Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, Miss., where he had resided for the past ten months. Burial was in the Ellisville Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Randy Hardison, Larry Hardison, Jason Graham, Edwin Allbrooks, and Delton Beech.
