Chesley Lee ``Shorty'' Cutchins Sr., 68, of 3029 Carolina Road, died Mar. 21, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Cutchins was a native of Southampton County, and was the son of the late Clarence Lee and Janie Futrell Cutchins. He was retired from the maintenance department of the City of Suffolk and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Parker Cutchins; two daughters, Faye C. Blanchard of Suffolk, and Phyllis J. Cutchins of Newport News; one son, Chesley L. ``Buddy'' Cutchins Jr., of Suffolk; four sisters, Viola Liverman of Smithfield, N.C., Ginny Sue Benson of Portsmouth, Clara Mae Benson of Walters, and Ann C. Bess of Newsoms; four brothers, Paul H. Cutchins of Virginia Beach, James P. Cutchins of Smithfield, N.C., Raliegh Cuthcins and Robert Lee Cutchins of Franklin; and one granddaughter, Angela Faye Blanchard.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
