BENEFIT TO HELP SEND STUDENTS TO ENGLAND

``Music and Art in the Afternoon,'' a benefit to raise money for students at the Governor's School for the Arts, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Potrafka's Gallery in Tower Mall.

Twenty-two music students will travel to England to give three performances and visit Paris during spring break, April 10-18.

They will give a joint concert in Bath with musicians from St. Gregory's School on April 12. They will perform for the Victory Easter Egg Hunt in front of the Imperial War Museum in London on April 14 and at Battersea Park on April 15.

The student group includes one Portsmouth student, Courtnee Felton. The travelers will include 11 students from Chesapeake; seven from Virginia Beach; one from Norfolk; and two from Franklin.

To help raise money for the trip, the student musicians will give continuous performances during the benefit at Potrafka's Gallery. A silent auction of donated items and a wine tasting by Stonewall, a Virginia winery, will be held.

The winery and Potrafka will donate portions of the day's sales of wine and art to the student fund.

Admission to the event is $2 per person. by CNB
