CHESAPEAKE MAN DIES WHEN THROWN FROM CAR IN ACCIDENT

A 28-year-old Chesapeake man was killed early Sunday when he apparently lost control of his car.

The accident occurred about 1:10 a.m. on Interstate 64 about a half-mile east of the Norview Avenue interchange.

State police said Richard D. Galietti, 28, was heading west when the car he was driving ran off the road, striking a light pole and a tree.

The car flipped, throwing Galietti out.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.
