THE DANCE community puts its creative force behind a cause this weekend with a modern dance concert benefiting the Hampton Roads Committee for Prevention of Child Abuse. The Old Dominion University Dance Theatre and the Governor's Magnet School for the Arts Dance program present the show at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Chandler Recital Hall in the Fine and Performing Arts Building at ODU. Tickets are $8, $5 for students. The Eastern Virginia Collective of Dance Artists will contribute works to the program. Choreographers include Elbert Watson, Melody Ruffin-Ward, Gwen Spear Meng, Terry Crews, Beverly Duane, Laura Pettibone Wright, and Ray Schwartz.
