MAURICE L. PEELE SR.

Maurice L. Peele Sr., 81, of the 2400 block of Sir Lance Drive, died Monday, March 27, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.

Mr. Peele was born in Williamston, N.C., and was the son of the late Charles M. and Annie P. Peele. He retired in 1981 after 16 years as a welder with Norfolk Shipbuilding and Dry Dock. Mr. Peele was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and was a member of the choir and the Methodist Men. He was a former member of the South Norfolk Lions Club.

Mr. Peele is survived by his wife, Dorothy McPherson Peele of Chesapeake; his son and daughter-in-law, Maurice Jr. and Janice Peele of Fayetteville, N.C.; his daughter and son-in-law, Nina and John O'Hear of Starkville, Miss.; four sisters, Lillian P. Peel, Ethelyn P. Jones and Doris P. Britton, all of Williamston, and Evelyne P. Bizzell of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Charles M. Peele of Williamston and Howell R. Peele of Cary, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Peele and Mary and Kathleen O'Hear.

A funeral service will be conducted at Oak Grove United Methodist Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. W. Roberts McIvor. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund.
