Eleanor Hussion, 78, a homemaker and hospital volunteer (Simpson-Hopkins), died Thursday, March 16, 1995, at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Mass., of complications from a stroke.
She was the beloved wife of retired L.Cdr. John J. Hussion. Mrs. Hussion was born in Edenton, N.C. She was raised and spent her early adult years in Norfolk. She had been a resident of Newport News for 37 years, before moving to Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich, Mass., three years ago, to be near her daughter.
Survivors besides her husband include a son, F. Leigh Hopkins of Newport News; three daughters, Marlene H. Griffith of Arlington Heights, Ill., Karen A. Hussion of Marstons Mills, Mass., Brenda H. Talbert of Randolph, N.J.; two brothers, George L. Simpson of Monroe, N.C., and Jesse R. Simpson of Morehead, N.C.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on March 18, 1995, at Our Lady of the Assumption, Osterville, Mass. Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville, Mass.
