Mary Alice Perry Vereen, 76, of the 300 block of Hinton Ave., died March 27, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mrs. Vereen was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Samuel Vereen. She was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include two daughters, Bessie Battle and Hilda Perry, both of Portsmouth; a son, Lonnie Perry of Chesapeake; three stepsons, Clarence Vereen, Joe Vereen and Bill Vereen, all of Supply, N.C.; a sister, Leler Perry of Chesapeake; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; cousins; sister-in-law, Martha Perry; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Discipleship Baptist Church, 3600 Race St., Portsmouth, by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday.
