Lorence R. Osmunson Jr., 70, of the 2200 block of Helsley Ave., died March 27, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Osmunson was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was Lutheran. He was retired as an air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanic from the Public Works Department of NOB, Norfolk, after 15 years. He was also retired from the Navy after 20 years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Branch (NU)60.
Survivors include his wife, Etta ``Sue'' M. Osmunson; three daughters, Susan K. Swofford of Littleton, N.C., Deborah A. Youmans of Virginia Beach and Gale F. Carter of Norfolk; three sons, Lorence R. Osmunson III and Robert W. Osmunson, both of Virginia Beach, and James A. Osmunson of Norfolk; a brother, Thomas H. Osmunson of Honesdale, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca L. Osmunson, Steven A. Osmunson, Robert W. Osmunson Jr., Tricia A. Miller, W. Daniel Clayton, Christopher Swofford, David D. Youmans Jr., Jessica A. Youmans, Michael A. Youmans, Nicole Osmunson and Katherine Carter.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by Chaplain Kingwood. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
