The Rev. John Rallson Hendricks Sr., 84, died March 28, 1995, of advanced Alzheimer's Disease.
He was born Nov. 5, 1910, in Glade Spring, Va. He was preceded in death on June 8, 1989, by his wife, Josephine Masengill Hendricks, 79.
He retired in 1975 as the director of the Hermitage in Onancock, Va., after 40 years of service to the Methodist Church. He served at churches throughout Virginia, including Miles Memorial Church and Colonial Avenue Church, both in Norfolk, and was Portsmouth District superintendent. He was a graduate of Emory and Henry College and the Yale Divinity School. He was a founding trustee of Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk.
Survivors include children, JoNeal Scully of Charlottesville, Ruth Ann Taylor of Snow Creek, Va. and John Rallson Hendricks Jr. of Spruce Pine, N.C.
