Can someone please tell me why we send millions of dollars to other countries and we can't take care of our own fellow Americans?
Is there no humanity left?
Six weeks ago my sister found out she has a brain tumor. Her life has been shattered. She has no insurance at work yet, and there are no government agencies that will help her pay her medical bills. She doesn't qualify for Medicaid because she's not a child and she's not over age 65. She can't quit her job because she has a child to support. Where do we go from here?
As if the stress of her illness is not bad enough, she has to agonize over whether she'll have the needed surgery because of a lack of insurance . . . Medicaid . . . money!
Should anyone have to go through this? Someone actually had the audacity to tell me to write my local congressman. Is he going to pay for her surgery? I think not!
