Recent letters concerning your allegedly excessive coverage of crime are from the next probable victims. Their heads are in the sand.
Your community tabloids list the victimized streets and what was taken. I scan the adjacent street names, having been robbed twice by the same thief. A logical person thinks that a thief would not return to the scene of the crime, but a crook knows that ``success breeds success.'' Most crooks are lazy and operate close to home.
In 25 years, my family of four has been robbed 18 times. I know 10 people who have had a member of the immediate family slain. By being informed, I have thwarted several other ``probables,'' so I urge you to keep on ``telling it like it is.''
