Edna Nelson Blackstock, 59, of the 2500 block of Cachet Court, died Monday, April 3, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
She had been a beautician for 25 years at her retirement. She was born in Raleigh, N.C., and was preceded in death by her father, George Lucas Nelson. Mrs. Blackstock was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Drew D. Blackstock; her mother, Mary Pauline Hawkins Nelson of Virginia Beach; a son, Randolph N. Bannister of Norfolk; three stepdaughters, Brenda Blackstock and Nora Robbins, both of San Diego, Calif., and Diane Barker of Orange Park, Fla.; a sister, Mary Brown of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four brothers, George L. Nelson Jr. and Charles C. Nelson, both of Norfolk, William F. Nelson of Virginia Beach and Edward T. Nelson of Gloucester, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 1995, in Park Place United Methodist Church by the Rev. Francis E. Collins and Dr. Charles H. Smith. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
