Mary Hall has been named executive director of the Dare Voluntary Action Center. She has been DVAC's Volunteer Coordinator for the Youth, Education and Service program since the program's inception in early February.
YES matches high school students with non-profit groups in Dare County. Ten students are actively involved in the program and have volunteered over 179 hours thus far.
``Volunteering is very important to me,'' Hall said. ``It is something that I do for myself, my family, and my community. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to promote volunteerism and to assist the many non-profit organizations and agencies in Dare County.''
Volunteer Week is April 23-29 and Hall has been preparing to thank DVAC's volunteers for their work.
Hall replaces Bonnie Brown, who has joined the Dare County Extension Services. by CNB
