Amo Frank Judd Jr., Lt. Col. USMC (Ret.), 74, died April 4, 1995, after a long illness.
Lt. Col. Judd was born June 2, 1920, in DeQuincy, La. Enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942, he was commissioned in 1945. A World War II and Korean War veteran, he retired from active duty in 1969, becoming the public relations director of the Battleship USS North Carolina. He was a resident of Virginia Beach.
Lt. Col. Judd was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jane Judd, nee Giffin, of Covington, Ohio. He is survived by his current wife, Marlene Judd of Virginia Beach, his four sons, Amo F. Judd III of Perrysburg, Ohio, John David and Delores Judd of Virginia Beach, Robert Giffin Judd of Chesapeake and Lawrence Richard Judd of Richmond; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Lisa, Amy and Jason.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
