Nellie Beale Garrett, 90, formerly a resident of The Russell House, died Saturday, April 8, 1995, in Hillhaven Holmes Health Care. She was a native of Nansemond County, Va., and had lived in Virginia Beach since 1965. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Cheshire Garrett, and was a member of Kempsville Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Wilbur E. Brown of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Beverly B. Jones, Gloria B. Beil, W. Edward Brown Jr., Brenda B. Portlock and Kathleen B. Heatwole; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard T. Brown.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 12, 1995 at 1 p.m. in the Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel by the Rev. Paul J. Eure. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Tuesday, April 12, from 7 to 8 p.m. and will be at 2461 Bullock Trail, Nottingham Estates, London Bridge other times.
