Lindbergh Wells Jr., a retired chief petty officer, USN, 45, of Virginia Beach and originally of Paris, Ky., died on Sunday, April 9, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Wells served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Bermuda, Charleston, S.C., Puerto Rico, California, Guam and Virginia Beach. He was a graduate of Bourbon County High School and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. He recently attended ITT Technical Institute and was due to graduate in May with top honors.
Devoted husband, father and son, he is survived by his wife, Joan Wells; a son, Steven Wells; a daughter, Lori Wells; his parents, Lindbergh Wells Sr. and Helen Burns Wells of Paris, Ky.; two brothers, William Dean Wells of Georgetown, Ky., and David B. Wells of Claremont, Fla.; and numerous other family members and friends.
A chapel service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. The family will receive visitors at their residence after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
