LANEY MERVIS

Elaine Frances ``Laney'' Mervis, 41, of the 3900 block of Pierce Lane, died April 14, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Laney was a native of Portsmouth, Va., and was a long-time employee of Pioneer Title. More recently, she worked part-time at Deep Creek Country Day School and Deep Creek Central Elementary School. She was a member of Temple Sinai, Portsmouth, Va.

She is survived by JoAnn M. Hofheimer and Robert G. Hofheimer Jr. of Norfolk; Karen M. Zeno and G. Michael Zeno Jr. of Kirkland, Wash.; Margee S. Mervis of Bellevue, Wash.; and five nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday in Gomley Chesed Cemetery by Rabbi Arthur Steinberg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Sinai, 4401 Hatton Point Rd., Portsmouth, Va. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Robert G. Hofheimer Jr., 1111 W. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, Va. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, will be handling the arrangements.
