James Alphonsa Hunter, 81, of Route 1, died Monday morning, April 17, 1995, in Chowan Hospital.
A native of Perquimans County, he was the son of the late James E. Hunter and Mary White Hunter. He was a retired farmer and a member of Anderson United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Mae Ward Hunter; a son, R. Milton Hunter of Hertford; and two grandchildren, Nicole C. Hunter and Milton A. Hunter, both of Hertford.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Cedar Wood Cemetery with Swindell Funeral Home in charge.
