MAN MISSING: Police are looking for a 72-year-old man who has been missing since Monday morning.
Albert Shields, of the 900 block of Wolcott Ave., was last seen at 9 a.m. when he left his home to have his taxes prepared at College Park Square in Virginia Beach, police reported Tuesday. He never arrived.
Police said Shields also missed a dialysis appointment at 4 p.m. They said he may be suffering from the beginning stages of dementia.
Shields is described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has a dark complexion and a mustache. He was last seen driving a burgundy, 1977 Pontiac Bonneville with Virginia license HKI-543.
Anyone with information is asked to call Norfolk police or Crime Line at 441-5100.
PORTSMOUTH
CITY WORKER DIES: A city utility worker, severely injured last week while working with a sewer-cleaning hose, died Monday night.
Lisa Colasanti, 30, of Portsmouth, was operating the high-pressure hose when it apparently whipped out of control and struck her in the torso. She was part of a two-person crew on a truck Friday. Officials said Colasanti was operating the machinery correctly when the accident occurred.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
VIRGINIA BEACH
MISSING WOMAN FOUND: The 35-year-old woman whom police had sought since she apparently disappeared April 2 has been found unharmed in Springfield, Ore.
Police said Helene V. Bingham, a West Coast native, apparently left Hampton Roads voluntarily. At the time, police thought her disappearance was suspicious.
