POPE PLANS TO BE PEDIATRIC NURSE GROOVY SAPIEN

FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL seniors who can leave school early, school is probably the last thing on their minds once they leave.

This is not the case with Sherri Pope, a Lakeland High School senior. Once Sherri leaves school, she goes back - to the school board office, that is.

Sherri is a secretary in the Suffolk school board's business and finance department. She does standard secretarial work, which she finds more enjoyable than some of her previous jobs.

When she is not in school or working, Sherri enjoys watching scary movies and partying.

MY FULL, ENTIRE BIRTH NAME: Sherri Lynn Pope

I WAS BORN: May 3, 1977, in Suffolk

JOB: Secretary, Suffolk school board office, business and finance department

BROS AND SISTERS: Debora, 29, Laura, 31, and Donald, 33

MY SCHOOL IN THREE WORDS: Interesting, different, and blue (school color).

THE KILLER DAY MEANS . . . shopping all day.

BOY, I WAS PRETTY SMART WHEN . . . I decided to go to Lakeland instead of Nansemond River High School.

BUT I SURE FELT LIKE AN IDIOT AFTER . . . I joined the Lakeland marching band.

WHEN I HAVE A CRAZY MIDNIGHT SNACK CRAVING, I WANT. . . pizza.

MY PERSONAL OSCARS GO TO: ``Mother's Boys,'' ``True Lies,'' ``House Party 3.''

THE SONG OF THE CENTURY IS: ``Freak Like Me'' by Adiana Howard

THE GROOVIEST MUSICAL ARTIST IS: Keith Murray

WHEN I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO, I'M . . . watching scary movies.

BEST DATE I'VE HAD: I went to the beach with a friend (partied and had a good time).

AND THE WORST? It was after prom last year. It was boring.

IF I COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT ME I . . . would change my weight.

I WISH MY PARENTS . . . would let me party all the time.

THE BEST PLACE FOR MOUTH-WATERING CHOW IS: Pizza Hut

I LOVE SHOPPING AT: Military Circle Mall

THE ULTIMATE NIGHT ON THE TOWN WOULD INCLUDE: Going somewhere expensive to eat with a cute guy.

I MAKE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS TO WATCH. . . ``Martin,'' ``Living Single,'' ``New York Undercover.''

MY BEST JOB: The one I have now.

AND THE WORST? My first one, at Nansemond Parkway Elementary School. I had to clean up classrooms, bathrooms and floors.

I CAN EASILY BRAG ABOUT. . . my platform shoes.

IN TEN YEARS, I'D LIKE TO BE. . . a pediatric nurse.

IF I COULD CHANGE ONE THING IN AMERICA I WOULD . . . lower all of the taxes.

MY HERO IS: My mother

I AM TOTALLY UNIQUE BECAUSE . . . of my platform shoes. No one else around here has anything like them.

WHAT MAKES YOU MAD? Liars.

IF A FILM WERE MADE ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE DRAMATIC TURNING POINT? Graduation from college.

WHO WOULD STAR IN IT? Halle Berry, Wesley Snipes and Denzel Washington.

I SHOULD BE A VEEJAY ON MTV BECAUSE . . . the style of music that I like - rap.

IF I WAS A GUEST ON A TALK SHOW, IT WOULD BE: Ricki Lake

MY LIFE SUMMED UP IN FOUR WORDS: Unique, outstanding, ambitious, partying. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
