Calvin Lawton of the 300 block of E. Liberty St., our beloved father, brother and uncle, entered in the peaceful realm of eternal rest on April 18, 1995, at Sentara Nursing Home, Norfolk.
Mr. Lawton was born in Norfolk, son of the late Catherine B. and Harold Lawton Sr. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Reatha B. Lawton of Petersburg, Va.; a daughter, Ebony Perry of Norfolk; two sons, Calvin Lawton Jr. of Petersburg and Tion Perry of Norfolk; a stepson, Jimmy Brehon of Petersburg; two sisters, Barbara Johnson and Rita Lawton, both of Norfolk; three brothers, William Lawton and Sherman Lawton, both of Norfolk, and Harold W. Lawton Jr. of Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Trinity AME Church, 1301 Elco St., Chesapeake, by the Rev. L.R. Daughtry, Pastor. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 314 E. Liberty St., Norfolk, at noon Saturday for the funeral processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
