Eugenia G. ``Genie'' Klingmeyer, 76, a retired bookkeeper, died April 18, 1995, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Mrs. Klingmeyer was born in East Alton, Ill. She retired from Interior Systems of Virginia after eight years, was the widow of Wilbert A. Klingmeyer Sr., and a charter member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was the first woman elected to the church council, was past president of Lutheran Church Women and was a former Sunday School teacher. She did volunteer work at DePaul Hospital and was mentioned as one of the best-dressed women of Norfolk in 1955.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Hafele and her husband, Jim, of Charlotte, N.C., and Sandra E. Klingmeyer of Virginia Beach; a son, Wilbert A. Klingmeyer, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Erin and Jared Klingmeyer of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Meadowridge Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowridge Cemetery, Baltimore, Md. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
