Crystal Y. Cherry Tyler, our beloved mother, sister and aunt, entered in the peaceful realm of eternal rest on April 20, 1995. She died in a local hospital.
Mrs. Tyler was born in Norfolk. She was educated in Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Norfolk State University with a B.S. degree in nursing.
Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Wilson Jr., Jamail Tyler and Demario Tyler; her parents, Georgia Cherry Criswell and Mr. Charlie Speaks; three brothers, Warren Cherry Sr., Samuel Criswell Jr., and Donell Criswell; grandmother, Mrs. Margaret H. Cherry of Norfolk; and a host of other devoted relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Calvin James. Burial will be in Cleveland Cherry's Family Cemetery, Windsor, N.C. Arrangements by Metropolitan Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will assemble at 1044 Holt St., Norfolk, at 10 a.m. Wednesday for the funeral processional to the church.
