Almyra E. McClanan, 95, of Route 2, died April 22, 1995, in a Pilot Mountain, N.C., hospital.
Mrs. McClanan was born in Burlington Junction, Mo. She was the widow of Horace L. ``Pete'' McClanan and was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Beasley Bible Class, active in United Methodist Women's and was Circle leader several times. She was in the Care Ministry for many years. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Helen Sanders.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Kesler of Virginia Beach and Norma Bailey of Charlottesville; a son, Keith Bailey of Pilot Mountain; a sister, Melba Woods of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church by the Rev. Clark Mandigo. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Virginia Beach United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
