OFFICER ARRESTED: A police officer who has been on the force 3 1/2 years was arrested early Sunday and charged with perjury and grand larceny.
Jason L. Diedrich was arrested at the police station where he had been assigned to the midnight shift. He was being held in the City Jail Sunday night in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Police said Diedrich was arrested as a result of actions he took during a narcotics investigation in January. But a spokesman declined to offer details, noting that the investigation is continuing.
Diedrich was relieved of duty and placed on leave with pay pending an administrative investigation.
