Dixie B. Neal Jr., 70, of the first block of Afton Parkway, died April 23, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Neal was born in Fairfield, N.C., and was the widower of Eunice T. Neal. He was a retired automotive mechanic and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry McKone of Chesapeake, Dixie and Michael Huggins and Cindy and Lee Griffin, both of Portsmouth; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry T. and Nell Neal Sr. of Chesapeake; one sister, Georgia Shirley of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Jack Neal of Virginia Beach and Earl Neal of Chesapeake; three granddaughters, Kelli McKone of Chesapeake, Rachel and Dyan Griffin of Portsmouth; three grandsons, Tommy Neal of Richmond and Steve and Eric Huggins of Portsmouth.
The graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, April 26, 1995, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Ernie W. Myers in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and other times at 4 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
