Chris Haltigan of Kill Devil Hills won second place in the Watercolor Society of North Carolina's recent exhibit for her painting in aqua tones with orange sky entitled ``Elusive Marsh.''
Haltigan says the painting is watercolor and gouache of a scene from the Outer Banks. The painting also won an excellence award at the annual Frank Stick show in Nags Head.
Another of her pictures, juried into the show by Christopher Schink, won the SAS Institute Purchase Award.
Both pieces are on display at the Beaufort County Arts Council in Washington, N.C., through April 28. I want him completely cut off . . . I don't believe a lot of what he's saying. by CNB
