Onie Claiborne, 108, of the 900 block of E. Princess Anne Road, died Thursday, April 20, in DePaul Medical Center.
She died of old age and prior to her death she was in reasonably good health. She was a native of Chesterfield, Va., and was born in 1887.
On March 17th of this year, Mrs. Claiborne celebrated her 108th birthday with a party at Norfolk Health Care Center, where she was the oldest resident and was probably one of the oldest residents of Norfolk.
``You are a testimony to God's faith,'' said State Senator Yvonne Miller, who was in attendance along with former Vice Mayor Joseph N. Green Jr., John H. Foster, former City Councilman, and about 50 residents of Norfolk Health Care which made up her family were also in attendance.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 28, 1995 at 11 a.m. in Riddick Funeral Service, the Rev. Dr. John H. Foster officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
