Bishop Leroy Isreal Scott, aged 69, of the 3100 block of Knox St., a retired butcher, died April 25, 1995 in his residence.
Mr. Scott was retired from Armor Meat Packing for 39 years. He was pastor of First Pentecostal Church of Christ Holiness, vice bishop of the Pentecostal Church of Christ Holiness, member of the Southside Interdenominational Religious Coalation, and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Lee Scott; three daughters, Mrs. Leola Brown of Baltimore, Md., Ms. Linda Haynes and Ms. Lillian Scott, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Hillard of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brighton Rock AME Zion Church, Portsmouth, by Elder Marshall Goodwin. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday at Serenity Funeral Home, 6 to 8 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church of Christ Holiness, Portsmouth, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Brighton Rock AME Zion Church.
