EUGENE F. ELEY

Eugene Francis Eley, 82, died April 25, 1995, in Oteem, N.C.

He was a native of Portsmouth, Va., and was a lifetime member of Monumental United Methodist Church, Portsmouth. He was a member of the DAV Chapter (NU)41, VFW Post (NU)993, an Army veteran of World War II decorated with the EAME Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a participant in the Normandy invasion.

Survivors include two sisters, Katherine Eley Harrell of Morganton and Elizabeth Eley Booze of Folsom, Calif.; two nieces, Barbara Morrisette of Norfolk and Kay Harrell Molyneux of Morganton; one nephew, Hubbert Eugene Booze of Folsom, Calif; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Beverly Watkins. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will be at the funeral home today from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Mission or the Salvation Army. by CNB
