Arthur E. Conrad Jr., 69, a retired building contractor with Conrad Brothers, died April 28, 1995 in his residence.
Mr. Conrad was born in Norfolk and was the husband of Inelle D. Conrad. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 17. He was a member of The Church of The Holy Family and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
An avid boater, he was a past commander of the Virginia Beach Power Squadron, a past commodore of the Virginia Beach Yacht Club and the Great Bridge Cruising Club, and a member of Mathews Yacht Club and the Virginia Beach Anglers Club.
Besides his wife, he is survivied by three sons, Mark R. Conrad and his wife Peggy C., and David L. Conrad and his wife Patricia C., of Virginia Beach, and Daniel A. Conrad and his wife Patricia M. of Richmond; a sister, Virginia Strohmeyer, of Norfolk; a brother, George C. Conrad of Virginia Beach; three grandsons, Matthew B. Conrad and Jonathan M. Conrad of Virginia Beach, and William Scott Conrad of Richmond; and one granddaughter, Michelle E. Conrad of Virginia Beach.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, 1995, in The Church of the Holy Family, 1279 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, by Father Richard Mooney. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
There will be a Christian wake service Sunday at 7 p.m. in The Church of the Holy Family.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road chapel, is handling the arrangements.
