Regarding Roslynn R.J. Hill saying that only the rich will benefit from the capital-gains-tax-cut proposal (letter, April 12): She is way off. I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but a capital-gains-tax cut would help me a great deal by allowing me to keep more of the money that I am investing in my IRA, which happens to be in mutual funds. Imagine that - getting to keep more of your own money instead of sending it to the liberals in Washington, D.C., so they can squander it. What a concept.
If Ms. Hill would look at the facts, she would see that the '80s were among the most prosperous times this nation has ever enjoyed. Don't believe the lies that are being fed to us by the current administration.
It looks to me as if the liberals have succeeded in ``dumbing down'' too many of our citizens with their ``Let's redistribute the wealth'' b.s. Take note of the fact that they are not talking about ``their'' wealth. For the most part, the rich have earned their wealth and they have a right to keep it.
