The Portsmouth City Amateur golf tournament, which had been scheduled for May 13-14, is being rescheduled due to work at Sleepy Hole.
A tentative date of June 24-25 has been set.
The 36-hole event will be played at Sleepy Hole for the third year.
Portsmouth native J.P. Leigh, now a resident of Suffolk, is the defending champion. Leigh won the 67th annual City Amateur with 151 last year. He edged Troy Ferris of Virginia Beach and Jeff Shield of the Eastern Shore by one shot.
FLAG FOOTBALL: Langley Express and the Hammerheads will match perfect 7-0 records in the Hampton Roads Adult Flag Football League when they collide today at 2:30 p.m. on the Wilson High School field.
In last week's games Langley thumped Team Bulldogs, 21-8, and the Hammerheads rolled over the Predators, 40-18.
Jonathan Gibbs threw for two touchdowns for the Expressmen. Mack Hughes had three scoring catches for the Hammerheads.
John Ealey passed for nine touchdowns, three to Marlo Mills, as Copy Shop pummeled the Scale 'O De Whale Raiders, 66-14. Mills also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
The Steelers thumped Post Eagles, 42-18, with Tony Debrough throwing for three scores and Vernon Clifton racking up five sacks. The 103JAMZ downed Mike's Mechanical Dog, 32-22. Devonde Brown passed for three touchdowns.
The Langley All-Stars, behind four touchdown tosses by Steve Savage, whipped the Hawks, 29-8. The Primetimers blasted Orange Crush, 41-0, as Anthony Williams hurled four touchdown passes. Coreyi Etheridge pulled in three scoring catches.
YOUTH BASEBALL: The Churchland Baseball Association is conducting registrations for its Palomino (17-18) team. Any one born between Aug. 1, 1976 and July 31, 1978 is eligible. Cost is $45. For further information, call Mike Atkins at 397-3584.
