The 16th annual ``Music for an Olde Towne Afternoon'' will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday in and around the Glasgow Street Park.
Sponsored by the Portsmouth Music Study Club to observe National Music Week, programs will be offered in three locations with enough time between performances for members of the audience to stroll from one site to the next.
Ann Morgan, a native of Newport News and a graduate of Radford University, will give a solo bell performance of a variety of music. Morgan will play at the Glasgow Street Park, between Dinwiddie and Court streets.
The Governor's School for the Arts Flute Choir, directed by Patti Watters, a faculty member of the Governor's School, will play in the garden of Dr. and Mrs. Robert W. Knapp, 320 Court St.
The Flute Choir, formed in 1989, performs a variety of musical styles, from classical to Broadway, and uses the entire flute family including a C flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute.
Members of the Flute Choir include Alison Smith, a senior at Bayside High School; Narendra Pleas, a senior at Green Run High School; Leya Speasmaker, a sophomore at Cox High School, and Sabrina Sasser, a freshman at Western Branch High School.
The Three Rivers Men's Chorus, based on the Peninsula, will perform at the courtyard of the 1846 Courthouse Arts Center, 420 High St. The ensemble is made up of 20 members, directed by Michael Gilpatrick and accompanied by Paula Huddy. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to Broadway hits.
Refreshments will be served at the courtyard. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. They may be purchased at any of the three sites.
