George Franklin Murphy, 64, of the 6300 block of Knob Hill Drive, a retired salesman, died April 28, 1995 in Chesapeake.
Mr. Murphy was born in Norfolk. He retired from Royal Crown and Rowe Distributing, was a U.S. Army veteran and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Odell Murphy; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana M. and Bob Ashburn of Richmond; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny L. and Virginia Murphy of Chesapeake; a brother, Sammy Roby of Norfolk; and a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Doreen M. and Dave Hallers; a grandson, Jacob C. Murphy; and a great-granddaughter, Jenna N. Hallers, all of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 4 to 6 p.m. today.
