ARCHITECTURE
Donald G. Taylor was named vice president of construction with The TAF Group in Virginia Beach. He also serves as a member of the firm's board of directors.
Taylor, a civil engineer, joined TAF in 1993 as a project manager.
BANKING
The Bank of Tidewater appointed A. Ray Megginson to its board of director for the bank's Lynnhaven branch. Megginson is a senior vice president and certified financial planner with Davenport Dukes and Associates Inc. in Virginia Beach.
Michael LoCash was promoted to vice president of finance with Atlantic Fleet Credit Union in Norfolk. LoCash joined the credit union in 1993, and has served as accounting supervisor and action liaison to its board of directors.
EDUCATION
Patricia Patten Cavender was named assistant vice president for enrollment services with Old Dominion University. She will oversee organizational structure of admissions, financial aid, registration and records, and military student services.
Cavender joined ODU in 1993 as director of admissions. She formerly served as assistant director of alumni relations with Ohio University.
Angela Nixon Boyd will serve as acting director of admissions. Boyd was associate director for marketing/school relations.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. John D. Becher Jr. joined the medical staff with NDC Medical Center in Norfolk. Becher, an internist, was director of medical services with the Whiting Forensic Institute in Middleton, Conn.
MORTGAGE
Robert E. Fuqua was named vice president and chief financial officer with Tarmac America Inc. in Norfolk.
Fuqua, a certified public accountant, holds a master's degree in business administration. He previously was vice president and chief financial officer with Packaging Corp. of America, a division of Tenneco.
Tarmac also appointed John Sansome payroll manager. Sansome was financial controls manager with Beverly Enterprises.
Ted Yoder will manage the Virginia Beach mortgage operations with Beach Fed Mortgage Corp. at its new branch in the Pavilion Center, scheduled to open in May. Yoder was hired last December as vice president and branch manager.
Yoder formerly a branch manager with Mid-Atlantic Financial Group Inc. in Virginia Beach. He serves on the board of director with the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association.
REAL ESTATE
GSH Real Estate Corp. in Virginia Beach named Jackson H. Pope chairman and chief executive officer and Sandra W. Ferebee president.
Pope had served as president of the corporation since 1985, and will continue to direct the growth of the company. He has been with GSH for 22 years.
Ferebee will be responsible for overall sales management, training and recruitment, and will continue as general sales manager. She has also been with the real estate company for 22 years. She has served as executive vice president and general sales manager for the past three years.
GHS Real Estate operates 16 offices throughout Hampton Roads.
William Allsbrook was named vice president of new homes/builder services with The Prudential Decker Realty in Chesapeake.
Allsbrook has been in the real estate business for more than 18 years. For the past 11 years, he was director of new construction with William E. Wood & Associates Realtors. He also served on the board of directors with the firm.
TECH SERVICES
Ian Gutridge was named vice president and product general manager of sensors with Lucas Control Systems Products in Hampton. Gutidge was program director for Lucas Applied Technology. He has been with the Lucas industries for 10 years.
The international supplier of advanced technology systems and services also appointed Tim Ristoff sales manager for North America. He will have responsibilities for all of North America including Canada and Mexico. Ristoff was a regional sales manager with Interstate Marketing in Los Angeles.
