PHYLLIS H. MILLER

Phyllis Harner Miller, 88, of Charlottesville, Va., died at the home of her family in Norfolk, Va.

She was the wife of the late Dr. Clifford D. Miller and the daughter of the late Rev. James Philip and Myrtie Dare Harner. The Rev. James Harner was a minister in Edinburg, Va., in the early 1900s. She was born in Cavetown, Md. She was trained as a registered nurse and worked for 22 years in the University of Virginia Hospital. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville where she served as a deacon and later as an elder. She was a volunteer for many years with the Red Cross of Charlottesville, Va.

Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Dr. Donald H. Miller of Norfolk and Dr. Charles Miller of Shenandoah County; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at the Cedarwood Cemetery in Edinburg, Va., on Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held on May 7, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made to the University of Virginia Medical Foundation, Department of Orthopedics, U.Va. School of Medicine, Box 324, Charlottesville, Va. 22908 or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 190 Rugby Road, Charlottesville, Va. 22903. The Dellinger Funeral Service, Woodstock, Va. will be in charge of arrangements.
