Regarding the recent tragedy in Oklahoma City, I would like to reflect on the positive results that have occurred.
We as a nation have truly come together as one to help the people of Oklahoma City - those who never gave blood before stood in line to give, those who can't afford it gave donations to the Red Cross, and many more acts of generosity were seen throughout the nation.
It has helped restore my faith in the human race that we can and do come together to help one another in a time of crisis.
Speaking of helping, there are no words to express the thanks and gratitude that all 56 members of our local search-and-rescue team deserve. I have never been so proud of a group of people before as I watched them return home from their extraordinary journey. They are heroes in every sense of the word.
