``Go-o-o, Humpty!'', ``Limbo Jack Be Nimble'' and ``The Mother Goose Twist'' are among the rollicking songs of ``The Mother Goose Traveling Rock and Roll Show.''
This is one musical, Messick, Mother Goose. The David Messick puppet show will be at the Suffolk Museum, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with music and skits based on familiar tales. The show is free.
Modern music adds a modern touch. ``Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,'' for instance, is doo-wop-flavored; ``Hey Diddle, Diddle'' becomes a hoe-down; ``Limbo Jack,'' as the title suggests, is calypso.
If the kiddies' taste is of more classical bent, try the ``Three Little Pig Opera.''
The performance is by Rainbow Productions of Hampton.
Also among the songs are ``There's a Hoe-Down'' and a Tammy Wynette-inspired ballad, ``My Sheep Have Left Me,'' sung by Little Bo. ``Little Red Riding Hood'' also rides into the sunset, cowboy style.
It looks as if the title of the show might have to be changed since there is almost as much country as rock.
Messick did change some of the stars of his show.
``We're introducing the first of a brand new series of puppets,'' he said. ``They'll replace puppets that we've been touring with since we started in 1977.''
Other Rainbow productions include ``Sleeping Beauty'', ``Hansel and Gretel'' and ``Beauty and the Beast.''
