Elbert William Guthrie, 72, of the 2300 block of Chesapeake Ave., died in his home May 5, 1995.
Mr. Guthrie was born in Halifax County, Va. He was a retired machinist from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Guthrie; two sons, Howard Guthrie and Nelson Guthrie, both of Chesapeake; one daughter, Imogene Miller of Gates County, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Childrey Baptist Church in Halifax, Va.
