Dannie Tabron Fitchett of the 400 block of Mapleshore Drive, a retired school teacher, died May 2, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Fitchett was born in Courtland, Va., and retired from the Norfolk School System in 1987 after 35 years. She was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church, Norfolk, president of Usher Board (NU)1, member of The Boosters Club, member of the Norfolk Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc., Norfolk, Les Gemmes Inc., Norfolk Teachers Association, Retired Teachers Association, the National Teachers Association and Astors Social and Savings Club.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd E. Fitchett Sr.; three stepdaughters, Brenda Fitchett Anthony, Patricia Fitchett Fitzgerald of Chesapeake and Rosa Lee Davis of San Diego, Calif.; a stepson, Floyd E. Fitchett Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Flora Mae Freeman of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. Cedric Kirkland-Harris. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Fitchett Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. ILLUSTRATION: Personal photo
