A Suffolk man was killed when his car crossed three lanes and struck a tractor-trailer head-on on Pruden Boulevard Thursday night, police said Friday.
Adrian W. Boddie, 23, of the 100 block of Carver Ave. was dead at the scene, said police spokesman Mike Simpkins.
The collision occurred about 11:47 p.m. on a straight stretch of the four-lane highway near the Isle of Wight County line. Both vehicles were traveling about 55 mph, each in the far right lanes of the road.
Boddie was headed west in a 1984 Honda Prelude.
The eastbound truck driver, Ignacio Vivanco, 42, of Dayton, Ohio, was taken by Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad to Obici Hospital, where he was treated and released.
